Today, Moser Baer is best known as a manufacturer of digital storage media, namely optical discs, (recordable CD’s, DVD’s, and Blu-ray), flash media, (USB, SD/MicroSD, SSD) as well as other related materials. It was in 1999, that Moser Baer began focusing in earnest on optical discs. At that time, Moser Baer set up a high-capacity plant to manufacture recordable Compact Disks (CD-Rs) and recordable Digital Versatile Disks (DVD recordables), with a natural progression into recordable Blu-ray (BD-R) in 2007. At this time, the company was a large manufacturer of magnetic and optical media data storage products, exporting around 85 percent of its production with a presence in over 100 countries.
Pivoting in 2007, Moser Baer began manufacturing solar panels, adding a new product offering, diversifying its portfolio and expanding its market reach. To further reach new markets and customers, while looking to take advantage of consumer trends, Moser Baer started production of LED lighting for both professional and consumer installation. In 2016, Moser Baer partnered with NAND flash device controller supplier Phison Electronics to expand its flash media offerings. Unfortunately, due to a number of mitigating factors, the company was ordered liquidated due to its bankruptcy on 20 September 2018.
In 2020, Vinpower, Inc., acquired and took over full production of the most common slate of Moser Baer media commodities, primarily optical discs and flash media. In order to accommodate the full complement of digital storage users, Moser Baer’s digital storage product lines include both high end professional grade lines along with more price sensitive consumer grade items. These offerings are available globally under the Moser Baer branding.
Moser Baer flash has been extensively tested and put through a rigorous quality control process to ensure accuracy and reliability. While the optical disc lines offer both the authentic Moser Baer media identification code (MID) and production methods for authenticity and consistency. Recognizing a void in the market for high-quality professional grade media and more traditional low-cost media, Vinpower leveraged the global brand recognition of Moser Baer, in order to fulfill the need for reliable digital storage.
